Geologically, the Boyvinet Property is centered on a
local folded sequence of mafic volcanics injected by
conformable gabbroic injections.
A mechanical stripping program was commenced to expose
the rocks near a hole drilled in 1981 by Falconbridge
Gold that had encountered an interval grading 40,1 g/t
over 3,1m. Preliminary stripping exposed a sheared
contact between a felsic dyke and the mafic volcanics.
The contact zone appears strongly sheared with quartz
veining and a strong carbonate alteration. 6 samples
were collected from loose blocks excavated during the
stripping and from rocks collected directly at the
bottom of the trenches. The following table summarizes
the results obtained:

The company is currently pursuing the stripping program
to expose the structure along strike. The work will help
to explain the discrepancy between the geology described
in the hole drilled by Falconbridge and the geology
encountered on surface. Moreover it will allow for a
more thorough, channel sampling program across the
altered sheared zone. |
